I am a passionate marine ecologist who recently graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelors of Science in Aquatic Biology. I identify as a queer brown individual who presents as female, with intersectionality being a large aspect of my identity. As a jewish queer person of color I strive to combine my passions for advocacy and conservation, aiding in the diversification of ocean sciences. I have conducted marine ecological research in diverse environments including French Polynesia, Australia, and California. My long-term aims are to do research that will inform conservation and restoration initiatives, as well as to use that research to carry out conservation and restoration on my own. I am presently preparing a manuscript peer-reviewed publication investigating the impacts of parasitic flatworms on coral health.
Outside of research, I am an avid scuba diver, which has fueled my curiosity for the underwater world. I am deeply passionate about all aspects of the ocean, including swimming, water polo, underwater photography, and surfing. I am enthusiastic about broadening my research expertise and approach each opportunity with curiosity and an incentive to learn about numerous ocean science fields.
