St. Augustine, Florida
I am a proud first generation Trinidadian-American, originally from Brooklyn, NY. My interests/hobbies involve going to the gym, cooking, reading, comic books, and I am a huge movie/tv buff!
I graduated from SUNY Maritime College with my B.S. in Marine Environmental Science with a minor in Marine Biology, where I first got involved in research in a Paleoclimatology study using Ostracod assemblages. I then went on to obtain my Masters from Stony Brook University where I was part of a stock dynamic lab, but my thesis was focused on thermal tolerance variation in juvenile winter flounder in the Southern New England region. I relocated to Northeast Florida in 2023, and I have been working at the University of Florida Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience as an aquaculture technician. I am interested in pursuing a PhD in pathology through the lens of aquaculture, and focus my research on the Caribbean.
I'm looking for community as I enter my graduate program, as well as a mentor!
